Claudia creates abstract works in painting, collage, and sculpture, blending structure and intuition to explore emotion, motion, and space.
My work exists in the intersection between expressionism and abstraction, where emotion and form collide. I explore the endless possibilities of acrylics, oils, pastels, mixed media, collage, and sculpture to create pieces that evoke both the spontaneous energy of expressionism and the structured fluidity of abstraction.
Color is a constant focus in my practice, as I believe it holds the power to communicate and transform. I approach it with a sense of experimentation, allowing each layer and hue to shape the narrative, whether I am depicting the human figure, landscapes, animals, or completely abstract forms. Alongside color, I pay careful attention to value—how light and dark interact, how contrast can create depth and resonance.
Line, vector, and planes are essential components in my process, guiding the viewer through a visual journey that balances both organic and geometric elements. The result is a dynamic fusion of forms that invite exploration and introspection. I do not adhere to a specific theme or subject matter; instead, I aim to capture the essence of whatever is calling to me in the moment—an impulse, a feeling, a visual curiosity. In this way, each piece becomes a conversation between material, intention, and the viewer.
Ultimately, my work is about the freedom of creation and the exploration of space, light, and color. I hope my pieces evoke a sense of connection, inviting the viewer to find their own narrative within the abstract forms and emotional traces I leave behind.
Claudia is a painter, collagist, and sculptor whose multidisciplinary practice explores the intersection of color, mood, structure, and motion. Raised in a home deeply rooted in the arts—her father was a Juilliard-trained opera singer and her mother a sculptor—Claudia was immersed in creativity from an early age. She began working in watercolor, oils, pastels, and sculpture during her youth, receiving her first commissions as a teenager.
Initially focused on realistic depictions of the natural world, Claudia’s work has evolved over time to embrace abstraction, particularly in her explorations of the human form and architectural elements. Her desire to merge artistic sensibility with mathematical structure led her to study architecture at the University of Florida. Ultimately, she shifted paths—moving to Atlanta in 1979—where she practiced pharmacy while continuing to study and create art.
Claudia’s current work spans painting, collage, and sculpture, often blending expressionism with abstraction. Her use of diverse media reflects a commitment to experimentation and intuitive process, allowing her to build rich, layered compositions that invite both emotional and visual engagement.
